We’ve learnt everything we know through creative experimentation, determination, trial, error, learning and discovery; through support from our peers; and most importantly by believing in and nurturing the talent of our creative team and collaborators.
We want 1927 to be a catalyst for other creatives - nurturing talent, opening doors and empowering potential. We do this by providing opportunities and support for new and emerging creative talent as we think it is essential for the most innovative and diverse artistic voices to thrive.
We put this commitment into action through Talent Development Activities that seek to identify, nurture, develop and support brilliant emerging and early career independent artists and practitioners to unlock their potential through paid work opportunities, developing practical experience, support professional development, and growing knowledge and networks.
As with everything in 1927, we do this in collaboration with our creative peers.
By collaborating with a series of Creative Associates, 1927 seeks to support the development of new and emerging creative talent by working with up and coming artists, practitioners and arts professionals at the very heart of 1927’s creative programme. We do this by offering professional development and work opportunities.
Over the next twelve months we will provide three opportunities for Associates to collaborate with 1927, working at the very heart of our creative programme, collaborating with us on the creation and delivery of our artistic programme. We will work with the three Associates on focussed activity across a fixed term basis, collaborating with an Assistant Director on the forthcoming revival and of The Animals and Children took to the Streets; an Animation Assistant on the creation of our next theatre show Roots; and a Digital Creative as we introduce Animated Worlds activities.
1927’s Mentoring programme, Insights, to be launched in 2018, endeavours to draw on our experience of crafting and touring original, hybrid cross-art form work across the small, mid and large scale sectors in the UK and internationally to provide mentoring for emerging and peer artists and artist led companies working in the independent performance sector.
We are currently looking for an Assistant Director to work with us on our forthcoming remount & tour of The Animals and Children took to the Streets.
