PRODUCTION MANAGER

We are looking for a Southeast or London based Production Manager to work with us on Please right back.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience of setting up and running sound in live performance.

  • Experience of projection set up and AV mapping* 

  • Ability to prepare appropriate technical plans for making the show work in tour venues.

  • A general knowledge of lighting** and stage management.

*  1927 uses Disguise - so any experience of this or other video operating experience is desirable. Experience of mapping or the ability to learn quickly is important.

** We have minimal stage lights, but you should be able to direct a team to rig some simple lights if needed.

The Production Manager will be be responsible for:

  • All technical & production management of Please right back, overseeing all technical and production preparation.

  • Liaison with UK presentation partners to ensure that the required technical staffing, sound, AV, technical equipment, and all other peripherals necessary for the production be provided for all performances.

  • Preparing technical plans for making the show work in the spaces being toured to.

  • Attending a prep week and being available for set up, strike, meetings, and rehearsal visits across the rehearsal process.

  • Tour with the production, running all get ins, fit ups, rehearsals, performances and get outs.

  • Rigging, focusing, and plotting projectors, AV, animation, sound, and lighting (minimal).

  • Operating sound and lighting for all performances.

  • Complying with standard Health & Safety legislation and recommended working practices.

          

About Please right back

Please right back is the new theatre show from 1927.  As with all 1927 shows it will seamlessly synchronise live performance and storytelling with films and animation, with performers interacting with projected animation for 2 hours.  The show will tour with 4 performers, 1 Production Manager and 1 DSM. 

 Key Dates

  • W/C 27 May:                 Technical Preparation week

  • 3 June – 12 July:           Rehearsals, London*

  • 16-28 July:                    Production week and performances Gulbenkian Arts Centre, Canterbury

  • 31 July – 12 August:      Edinburgh International Festival season

  • 23 Sep – 2 Nov:            UK touring (Oxford, Newcastle, Exeter, Leeds, Liverpool, Derby)

  • 3-22 December:            Christmas season, Brighton

 * Please note during the rehearsal process you need to be available for some meetings and rehearsal visits but are not needed exclusively.

Terms

  • Production Management prep fee of £3,000.

  • Weekly tour fee of £700

  • Per diems, accommodation, travel provided for the production week and all touring weeks.
