Bursaries!

As a homage to our early days and the people who helped us out, every year 1927 offers small cash bursaries to help Kent based artists develop a piece of original, sublime, heart-wrenching, political and unique performance, cross-artform or hybrid creative work. Alongside the cash bursary, 1927 offers each recipient mentoring.

Applications for 2023 Artists Bursaries opened on 6 December 2022 and closed on Friday 6 January 2023.

We’re delighted to have awarded 2023 bursaries to 5 brilliant Kent based artists, practitioners and companies:

A Guide to european touring for artists & companies

In collaboration with independent producers and consultants Nadine Patel and Ania Obolewicz and the teams over at ArtsAdmin & LIFT, commissioned by Arts Council England we've created a new practical guide that explains how UK-based theatre, dance, and live art artists or small companies can tour work across Europe.

From insurance and visas to copyright and cabotage, the guide offers a practical step-by-step guide to help navigate the post-Brexit touring landscape and will continue to be updated as the rules and regulations evolve.

Sessions are one-to-one spaces for listening and exchange.  Hosted by 1927 Producer Jo Crowley, creatives attending sessions might use them to chat through and explore range of things - from shaping a creative idea, a funding application, to getting some creative or producing advice or explore approaches to balancing sustaining a livelihood as an Artist. Attendees time for preparing, attending and reflecting on the sessions are fully paid for through an honorarium fee.
