PRODUCER OPEN HOUSE - Artist Support Sessions

2020. It’s not the year any of us had planned for. The tours, the seasons, the projects we had lined up may have fallen away like a stack of playing cards, but we’re still here.

We’re a tiny close knit, artist-led team at 1927. Two years ago we became an Arts Council England NPO, and that funding has helped us weather the storm of the past few months.  We’ve spent the months of lockdown cooking things up, collaborating, commissioning, crafting and creating. We know we’re one of the lucky ones.

Now, as things tentatively reopen, we wanted to open up our little 1927 house beyond our immediate collaborators, associates and mentees to support others in the small way we can.

Between August-December, one morning a week we will open our 1927 house to fellow Theatre and performance makers, facilitators, enablers and producers, offering free one-to-one spaces for listening and exchange.

Hosted by 1927 Producer Jo Crowley, sessions might be used to chat through or shape a creative idea, a funding application, get some creative or producing advice or explore approaches to balancing sustaining a livelihood with your practice as an Artist.

Sessions can be via old-fashioned phone-calls, video calls, or we can explore a medium that works best for you and your personal needs. Slots are open to all England based theatre and performance makers, facilitators, enablers and producers, but we are particularly keen to meet and support Artists, Creatives and Producers based in Thanet and East Kent.

Weekly Open House sessions generally run on Tuesdays with four one-hour long slots available at 9am, 10.00am, 11.15am & 12.15pm.  New slots will be released each month.

If you are based in Thanet, and all slots have been snapped up, please email natalie@19-27.co.uk, so that we can let you know when new slots become available.
