About 1927

1927 is an award-winning theatre and animation company that combines live performance, animation, music and film.

Since 2005, our productions have toured nationally and internationally, in theatres, opera houses and concert halls, and more recently our work has featured in film and television projects.

As well as productions that we originate, we are also regularly commissioned by festivals, orchestras, broadcasters and cultural organisations for specific projects.

In addition, we bring arts education to children, young people, and those facing financial or social disadvantage through workshops in schools, communities and prisons.

1927 is led by Suzanne Andrade, Esme Appleton and Paul Barritt.

In 2027, we will be twenty years old.
