“Funny, unsettling and unforgettable…a Frankenstein for the 21st Century…alive with irony, imagination and humanity”. The Times

“Brilliant and endlessly inventive theatre” The Arts Desk

Golem premiered in 2014 at the Salzburg Festival and it was our third theatre show. A dark and fantastical tale of an extraordinary ordinary man, it is a vivid mix of handmade animation, sly wit, live music, storytelling and performance. A multi-award-winning dystopian fable about our over-reliance on machines.
In 2016, the Jewish Museum in Berlin curated an exhibition entitled ‘Golem’ which included illustrations from the 1927 production-making up the closing motif covering the entire exhibition wall.
Golem played in London at the Young Vic before transferring to the West End.
It was also broadcast on BBC4
