In 2023 we collaborated with three directors - Nanine Linning, Neville John Tranter and Tobias Ribitzki, to create a version of The Tales of Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach for Graz Opera. Each director took a separate act and we wove them together into a phantasmagorical whole. We chose the second act, in which we unleashed the universe of the mechanical puppet Olympia, an operatic tour de force of coloratura singing, wild visuals and saucy fantasy.

Co-Produced by Graz Opera and Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf

Stage direction by Paul Barritt, Esme Appleton, Nanine Linning, Neville John Tranter, Tobias Ribitzki.

Musical direction by Johannes Braun.

Stage design by Stefan Rieckhoff.
