“A visual feast... preternaturally attuned to the score's expressive heartbeat.” The Guardian ★★★★
An original 80-minute animated silent film in response to Olivier Messiaen's monumental Turangalîla-Symphonie.
As bold and exuberant as the score itself, the film explores how 1927's distinctive fusion of animation and theatre can be translated to the cinema screen, creating a richly visual response to one of the 20th century's most extraordinary musical works.
Part of the Southbank Centre’s Multitudes Festival originally premiered at the Royal Festival Hall in 2026, the piece was accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Vasily Petrenko.
